About FAMSA The Federation of African Medical Students’ Associations (FAMSA) is a pan-African organization representing medical students across Africa. It empowers future healthcare leaders through advocacy, education, research, and collaboration to improve health on the continent.
40th VICE PRESIDENT OF FAMSA
Wahida Ali is a fifth year medical student, award-winning public speaker, and young African leader passionate about leadership, digital health, artificial intelligence, innovation, and medical research. Her leadership journey includes serving as FAMSA SCOMER Liaison Officer (2023–2024), FAMSA SCOMER Chairperson (2024–2025), and TAMSA Training Support Division Secretary (2024–2025).
As the FAMSA Vice President (2025–2026), Wahida works closely with the President, Executive Council, and relevant stakeholders in coordinating the Federation’s activities. She is also actively coordinating the preparations for the 40th FAMSA General Assembly and Scientific Conference in Zanzibar, bringing together her experience in leadership, project coordination, partnerships, and event management.

Medical Scholar | Healthcare Executive | Public Health Advocate

Hajra Lahdad Mohamed is a medical scholar, healthcare executive, and public health advocate from Zanzibar, Tanzania. She combines medical training with leadership, entrepreneurship, and community health advocacy, with a passion for improving healthcare access and awareness.
She is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Medicine at the State University of Zanzibar (SUZA) and previously completed a Diploma in Clinical Medicine, graduating as the Best Student.
Hajra serves as Chief Executive Officer of Smile City Dental Clinic, where she leads strategic development, operations, patient experience, and community oral health initiatives. She also serves as Treasurer of TAMSA-SUZA, supporting financial management, budgeting, and accountability. Previously, she served as Minister of Finance of SUZASO, managing student government financial responsibilities.
She is also a Millennium Fellow under the United Nations Academic Impact and Millennium Campus Network, where she contributed to reproductive health awareness and youth-focused community initiatives.
Her key interests include healthcare leadership, public health, entrepreneurship, financial accountability, medical education, and youth empowerment.
Vision: To become a healthcare leader who combines medical knowledge, innovation, entrepreneurship, and community service to create sustainable improvements in healthcare in Zanzibar and beyond.

Participants are invited to submit their abstracts for consideration for Physical (In-Person) or Virtual Presentation.
